A tasty recipe for stuffy noses

Buried under a mound full of Kleenex could be the remains of a tired, sick, and listless person. A person begging for some relief of the stuffy nose and phlegmy cough that won’t seem to go away.

Over the counter, cold medicines can be costly and when you are so sick, taking a trip to your pantry may seem easier than a trip to the local pharmacy.

A natural and tasty way to relieve the symptoms of congestion and cough is to whip up a homemade recipe of ingredients that are powerful and effective and have been used for many centuries in far east cultures.

Cayenne Pepper is a natural decongestant. It’s powerhouse compound, capsaicin, helps to alleviate pressure and relieve swelling, acting as an anti-inflammatory, to clear out nasal passages.

Ginger is an anti-inflammatory rooted-herb that can help loosen phlegm and mucous from the lungs making it easier to cough it up.

Honey is a natural expectorant and a natural antiseptic often used in over-the-counter cough medicines. It helps to soothe the throat and has many medicinal properties including boosting your immune system.

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder
  • ½ teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 3 tablespoons of all-natural raw organic honey
  • 1/4 cup of juice of a lemon
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar

How to Make:

Pour the lemon juice and apple cider vinegar in a pot and bring to a simmer. Stir in the raw organic honey and cayenne pepper and ginger (you can adjust the spices to your preference depending on how much heat you can handle).

Store in a jar in a cool, dark, place. Take 1-2 tablespoons daily as needed. Shake well before using. Heating before use is optional.
