July Foodie Holidays

Too many people love summer to ignore how gorgeous the season is.

From longer days to Independence Day, July is one of those months that you just can’t help but enjoy. And, if you’re a chili head, it’s one of the best foodie holiday months on the calendar.

July’s Month-Long Foodie Holidays

There are foodie holidays that last for all of 24 hours (or maybe a little more if you fly from east to west during the day). Then there are gloriously long month-long celebrations of food. And, July has a huge number of savory food-loving month-long holidays.

You’ll find National Baked Bean Month, National Hot Dog Month, and National Pickle Month all grace the July calendar. There are also the more ambiguous National Culinary Arts Month and National Picnic Month that fill the 31 days of July. If you’re interested in sweet foods, this may not be your month. All you’ll get is National Ice Cream Month, but we’re sure you can make the most of it.

While we’re not entirely certain how to direct you towards recipes for National Culinary Arts Month, we’ve got you covered on all the rest. (All you need to do is peruse our recipe blog; you’ll get plenty of ideas.)

Individual Foodie Days

July is also brimming with day-long foodie celebrations. Okay, we’re not off to the best start with National Gingersnap Day (or rather chili heads aren’t really going to enjoy it to the full), but the rest of the month isn’t so bad.

Independence Day covers National Barbecue Day as well as Caesar Salad Day (and you can easily celebrate both in the backyard or at the park). July 6th is National Fried Chicken Day and who doesn’t love that? No really, excluding strict herbivores, we have a difficult time believing people don’t like fried chicken.

Alcohol lovers can indulge in National Pina Colada Day (July 10), National Mojito Day (July 11), and National Tequila Day (July 24). If you’re keen on that last one, we have just the extract for you.

The brilliance of savory foods you can’t help but enjoy hot sauce begins again on July 16th with National Corn Fritter Day. July 21st is National Junk Food Day and the 23rd doubles down on a month holiday with National Hot Dog Day. If you’re more of a hamburger sort of a person, you don’t have long to wait until your national foodie day on July 28th.

Perhaps the biggest foodie day in July, however, is the 29th. It’s both National Lasagna Day and National Chicken Wing Day. Wow. It’s like the day of dreams, isn’t it? And a little bit of hot sauce is all you need to take those dishes to the next level.

Sadly, July’s foodie holidays end on the 31st with National Cotton Candy Day. But, you can’t win them all, can you?
